L08: Entrepreneurial Journal

These last weeks have been very tired for me, my work is absorbing me a lot, I start working from 7 am until 9 pm, I return home with physical and mental fatigue, a lot of stress, and I am grateful to the wife that I have, patient and loving It is becoming very difficult for me to study. This week I learned a lot and when I saw the video of Elder Holland, I cried, I cried a lot.
The words of Elder Holland encouraged my soul, I had the desire not to give up, to move on, no matter how tired I am, I do not have to give up. I know that all sacrifice and effort has its reward.

I like this quote : it used to discourage me that girls younger than I were married, but now, having learned what I’ve learned from my education and especially from my mission, I am thrilled with the direction, opportunities, and privileges the Lord has given me to grow. I will have so much more to contribute to my marriage when that time comes. And now I know after getting to know the Lord better that it will come in his own due time!

Based on what you read in the first two pages (pages 3 and 4), why are virtue and integrity so vital to an economy? Not everyone is so complacent. Markets rely on rules and laws, but those rules and laws in turn depend on truth and trust. Conceal truth or erode trust, and the game becomes so unreliable that no one will want to play. Virtue and integrity are the bases of trust. We cannot trust the man or woman who lacks morals or is unwilling to live up to the morals he or she claims to espouse. Interestingly, Handy says that markets rely on rules and laws that depend on truth and trust; I would argue that if all men and women had virtue and integrity, rules and laws would be unnecessary. Trust, in particular, is important to a free market. I am more likely to spend if I trust a merchant; I am more likely to spend if I feel secure; I am more likely to embark on an endeavor if I trust I will not be cheated. Growth Mindset

  This life is a life of learning, constant learning, and in this days I have learned many things, and especially that this life is full of challenges, mistakes, either because of our fault or the fault of others that affect us. We will always be afraid of being able to go further, beyond our strengths and limits. Many people lack confidence and faith to be able to do things for themselves, think that the world and opportunities are made for special people, rich people, different social status or different skin color. ENTREPRENEURIAL JOURNAL - LESSON 3

This lesson helps me to be able to apply the virtue of integrity, no matter the circumstance, place or time. Money is not bad, the bad thing is being able to love money above all things. Our heavenly father does not care how much money one has, if not how we can serve others, there are 3 specific things:   Are building His kingdom including strong and valiant families. Are honest in your dealings with your fellowmen and using your God-given talents in their service;  and if you are filling your life with good works, that positively impact your community and world.
