L06: Entrepreneurial Journal

These 3 days that have passed, I was able to learn a lot and receive the necessary inspiration for my life and my family. and I would like to cover some points learned.
Wences Cesares shares his three most important insights:

 1) Entrepreneurship is a calling that chooses us–it is inescapable.

 2) Time is our most valuable asset.

 3) Entrepreneurs create the most value by doing the same thing for a very long time.

And the words of Steve Blank: "How can one balance family life with the demands of the start-up?" Blank advises single people to stay single, and suggests that those with family ties set strict schedules to insure time together. Start-ups can easily take over one's life, he says, and one must be equally diligent in taking time off as working.

I believe in my own learning these days, that being an entrepreneur, you need to have a lot of discipline, order, love for the family, respect, loyalty.In this way of being an entrepreneur we can lose many more important things in God's sight.

Remember also that nature never pays an unearned account and she never fails to pay one that has been earned. If you wish to achieve financial success, if you wish to be happy, if you wish to be healthy, if you would be morally clean, if you wish to find religious peace of mind, there is only one sure way, and that is the straight and narrow path—the way of honor, the way of industry, of moderation, simplicity, and virtue.

    So many people say, “One cigarette, one cup of tea or coffee, one puff of marijuana won’t hurt you, and one drink of alcohol surely cannot hurt anybody.”

    I want to emphasize that if you never take the first you will never take the second. You will never become an alcoholic or an addict.

Based on what you read in the first two pages (pages 3 and 4), why are virtue and integrity so vital to an economy? Not everyone is so complacent. Markets rely on rules and laws, but those rules and laws in turn depend on truth and trust. Conceal truth or erode trust, and the game becomes so unreliable that no one will want to play. Virtue and integrity are the bases of trust. We cannot trust the man or woman who lacks morals or is unwilling to live up to the morals he or she claims to espouse. Interestingly, Handy says that markets rely on rules and laws that depend on truth and trust; I would argue that if all men and women had virtue and integrity, rules and laws would be unnecessary. Trust, in particular, is important to a free market. I am more likely to spend if I trust a merchant; I am more likely to spend if I feel secure; I am more likely to embark on an endeavor if I trust I will not be cheated. Growth Mindset

  This life is a life of learning, constant learning, and in this days I have learned many things, and especially that this life is full of challenges, mistakes, either because of our fault or the fault of others that affect us. We will always be afraid of being able to go further, beyond our strengths and limits. ENTREPRENEURIAL JOURNAL - LESSON 3

This lesson helps me to be able to apply the virtue of integrity, no matter the circumstance, place or time. Money is not bad, the bad thing is being able to love money above all things. Our heavenly father does not care how much money one has, if not how we can serve others, there are 3 specific things:   Are building His kingdom including strong and valiant families. Are honest in your dealings with your fellowmen and using your God-given talents in their service;  and if you are filling your life with good works, that positively impact your community and world.
